Wilmington- Sleep Care of Wilmington is pleased to announce that 100% of the staff physicians are now Sleep Board Certified. The five certified physicians include, W. Giles Allen, M.D., F.C.C.P., Brian M. Legere, M.D., F.C.C.P., Thaddeus L. Dunn, M.D., F.C.C.P., Brian J. Gilmore, M.D., F.C.C.P., and Christian B. Lloyd, M.D., F.C.C.P. Receiving Board Certification required the physicians to complete an accredited program, undergo an evaluation of their records by a panel of peer experts and pass a comprehensive examination.

Certification by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) is widely recognized by physicians, healthcare institutions, insurers and patients themselves as a reliable indication that a physician has the knowledge, experience and skills to provide expert care within a given specialty. Sleep Medicine has been recognized as an independent specialty by the ABMS, and the doctors at Sleep Care of Wilmington were among the first in the Wilmington area to complete the certification process. This makes the physicians the most experienced sleep care physicians in New Hanover County and the surrounding area.
